What may look like a handicap ramp, a pile of rocks covered in bird poop, a dried up field, or a trash filled creek bed to an everyday person, could look like a magical backdrop to a photographer.
The biggest reason to hire a professional photographer is knowing that they possess a tool belt of skills that not the everyday person has. Photographers spend years perfecting their eye, editing ability, and other vital skills needed to produce world class artwork that you'll hang on your wall and admire for decades. I personally spend at least an hour a day studying various techniques from not only world class photographers, but world class artists that have been and will be admired for generations. I've spent years studying art and mastering photography techniques so that I can produce amazing artwork no matter what the situation. One of the most interesting changes that's happened to me over my photography career is how different I see things in the world. The even cooler part? My eye is not like anyone else's in the world.
While I'm at a session, I always ask my assistant to take a lot of photographs of the area that I photograph my clients in. This is an amazing way to see how someone, without the skills of a photographer, captures the same area at the same time I do. Here are some of my favorite examples.
