Frequently Asked Family Portrait Questions
Q: What if I don't know where I want my session to be?
Q: What should I bring to my session?
A: You should bring standard grooming items (comb, brush, hairspray, spray bottle of water, make up, etc). A Bottle of drinking water is also a must! Some parents bring little snacks/candy or a toy to keep the kids happy.
Q: Will your watermark/logo be on my prints?
A: No. My online images have a Michael Pohl Photography watermark to protect my images while they are online. Your prints will not have any sort of logo visible on the image when you receive them.
Q: What if it rains?
A: Sadly we can't control the weather. If the weather isn't great for a session, we will reschedule.
Q: What do I wear?
A: You should wear something you're comfortable in and not something you would otherwise never wear. This helps you stay relaxed and comfortable in the shoot, and it helps show your personality! Families should match but not perfectly. Occasionally having everyone wear a white shirt, or different styles of white shirts will look good. It depends on what you want! Solid darker colors are best. Stripes are generally a no (they are unflattering to the body in photographs), along with small repeating patterns. Hats are optional, and usually don't make great portraits, but they can be worn.
Q: How many outfits can I wear in my session?
A: As many as you would like! You are aloud to spend your hour or two however you want. I recommend a base outfit, and maybe a few accessories, like a hat or a jacket, to make changes easier, especially with little ones. Some people prefer to wear fancier clothes which is fine too!
Q: Can I have props in my photos?
A: Yes! It shows off your family and makes the photographs extra personal! Just let me know in the pre-consult so we can plan for it!
