An Antioch treasure, Lone Tree Golf Course and Event Center is tucked between the Antioch Municipal Reservoir and Contra Loma Regional Park. Lone Tree Golf Course opened in 1934 in the grassy hills adjacent to Mount Diablo State Park. The original layout contained nine holes; with nine more added in the early 1950s. Over the years, trees were slowly added to give the course added definition. In 1990, most of the green complexes were changed to sand based greens. Holes No. 12 and No. 15 sport the greens from the original construction, as well as being the two smallest greens on the course. In 2004, Lone Tree opened the expansive event center.
The course currently features an 18-hole course with a par-72 layout, as well as a driving range and putting green.
Lone Tree is also well known for its Banquet and Event Center. The center features an area with seating for more than 350, making it a favorite for weddings, parties, business seminars, and more. It also features a restaurant, which is open for lunch and dinner, and equipped with a patio overlooking the 10th-tee box and the 18th green. In addition, there is also a full-service bar. At the front is the Pro Shop, which carries a wide range of apparel, shoes, equipment, and accessories.
Lone Tree has a large variety of programs designed for the casual beginner to the most-seasoned pro. Each year, the course hosts four NCGA point events, with fine players and other NorCal top amateurs filling the fields. With a strong instructional program, the facility and golf professional staff being First Tee certified, golf can be easy to learn for all ages and skill levels. Antioch and Deer Valley High schools call the course home for their men's and women's programs. In the spring and fall, numerous high school invitationals are held. Lone Tree also hosts a variety of events, such as couples’ night, ladies golf, seniors golf, and more.
